I am on a journey to freedom, success and happiness and I want to share my wins and setbacks with you so that you can also find freedom.
I am including a lot of my past experience in this site and the blog will be a running commentary of the choices I make and the things I do and attempt, the learnings of these will go onto the individual pages. I have a passion for personal growth and a curiosity for finding limits and breaking them. I will be doing things that I hear or read about that could possibly improve at least one of the pillars to freedom (see below). Most of this isn’t ground breaking or even new but it is hopefully a collation of useful information and resources that can help guide you.
In the end, after reading all this, you have to decide what your freedom is, what you consider success to be, and what makes you happy. You have to decide the life you want to live and then go out and live it.
What does Freedom mean to me?
To me, freedom has a physical and a mental aspect.
Physically, freedom is the ability to do what you want when you want*. This could mean being able to work from anywhere allowing you the opportunity to travel and see the world. It could also mean not having to work fixed hours which gives you the ability to spend more time with your family, having work where you don’t have to put the needs of your job ahead of your needs or those of your family.
…and Success?
Everybody has their own definition or understanding of exactly what success is. If I asked everyone who they consider successful and why, there would be a very wide range of answers (as shown in The Tim Ferriss Show). I am going to define success as ultimately achieving the life you have designed for yourself. You can be successful in different aspects of achieving your life design or in achieving it completely. I have a life design with a plan to achieve it but am also having fun and am happy in the process.
… and Happiness?
People define happiness as being happy all the time but this would, by it’s very definition, lead to the reduction of happiness. I find a better definition to be an overall feeling of contentment. With the overall ups and downs that naturally come with moods and happiness, you can still feel content with the way you are living your life.
